Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Requirements:

• Proven experience in quality assurance and testing, including oversight of third-party suppliers
• Experience designing and delivering test strategies and plans
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, and performance testing
• Knowledge of automation concepts and tools, with experience applying them in projects or supplier contexts; tools include Postman, Selenium, Cypress, and RSAT
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple testing activities simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and ability to present test outcomes and risks clearly
• Experience with SaaS or package-based applications
• Experience writing automated tests using C# or Python
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, NEC Housing, or similar enterprise platforms
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other test management tools

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain test strategies and plans for new solutions, changes, and upgrades
• Oversee testing activities carried out by third-party suppliers
• Coordinate and support testing, including user acceptance testing and implementation rehearsals
• Review and approve supplier test documentation, scripts, and results
• Define release quality criteria and ensure they are met before deployment
• Identify opportunities to improve testing automation and efficiency, and ensure partners apply best practices
• Produce clear reports and recommendations on test outcomes, risks, and readiness for go-live

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to work with a well-known Housing Association from its Kings Cross office. This is an initial six-month contract, with an ASAP start and potential to extend. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. The role offers hybrid working, with office attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays and three days working from home. Pay is £27.62 per hour PAYE or £36.26 per hour umbrella, inside IR35.
