Lead Platform Engineer (AWS)

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical design to technical and non-technical audiences in conversation, documentation, and presentations.
• Proven experience in team leadership and supporting a DevOps culture in delivering and/or supporting complex projects.
• SC Clearance is required.
• Significant expertise in designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring, operating, and improving the reliability of modern digital service platforms in production environments.
• Experience using the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for releasing operationally ready software to production, including platform orchestration through multiple configuration management tools.
• Demonstrable experience building and/or supporting modern digital service platforms, including architecture, design, estimation, planning, and iteration on MVP using a modern agile approach.
• Experience championing best-practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling, techniques, and processes to manage and improve existing platform services, including monitoring, platform modernisation, and cost optimisation.
• Experience using AWS, including SaaS or PaaS offerings, to solve business problems.
• Desirable: AWS certification.
• Desirable: certification in a specialism such as Kubernetes CKAD.

• Support colleagues and foster a DevOps culture by embodying our values.
• Provide technical leadership and direction while solving challenging problems on delivery and support projects.
• Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on employee performance and career development.
• Mentor those around you and interact with customers as a technical leader.
• Help push the boundaries through exposure to new technologies, with the opportunity to develop specialisms and pivot your career direction.
