IT Technician / Engineer

Salary: £16,000 - 26,000 per year

Requirements:

• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems, Windows Server, DNS and DHCP
• Strong knowledge of our core hardware and software products
• Basic knowledge of Apple Mac operating systems and troubleshooting for iPhone/iPad devices and other mobile vendors
• Excellent and friendly customer service skills, both on the phone and in person
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly to customers
• Excellent written communication skills for emails and documentation
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Ability to perform installations and project work when required
• Valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle
• Ideally 3+ years of previous experience in a similar role
• CompTIA or MTA/MCP/MCITP/MCSE certifications are desired

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting for customers existing hardware and software installations
• Answer customer phone calls, log support tickets and work them through to resolution
• Provide on-site and remote support to customers when required
• Build, configure and install new hardware including routers, wireless equipment, switches, servers, PCs and laptops
• Install, configure and support applications such as Microsoft Server, SharePoint, Office 365 and VOIP phone systems
• Work with the team and customers on larger projects such as infrastructure refreshes, disaster recovery and infrastructure virtualisation
• Respond to monitoring alerts and carry out proactive maintenance to reduce outages and downtime
