Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong Python development experience in production environments
  • Experience building backend services and APIs
  • Understanding of modern web application development and the ability to contribute across the stack when needed
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and distributed systems
  • Experience designing and optimizing relational databases
  • Experience building data-intensive applications and processing large datasets
  • Experience with background processing, job orchestration, or distributed workloads
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in containerized and cloud-native environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automation pipelines
  • Strong testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • High sense of code quality and the desire to build and maintain robust, reliable software
  • Curiosity and adaptability when learning new technologies and domains
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python
  • Build scalable and reliable applications that support forecasting, analytics, and decision-making processes across the business
  • Develop distributed processing pipelines and asynchronous workloads
  • Design and optimize relational OLTP databases, data models, and query performance
  • Build and maintain data processing, analytical, and forecasting workflows
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications when required
  • Build intuitive interfaces and workflows that enable technical and non-technical users to interact with backend systems and business tools
  • Integrate services with the King and Microsoft ecosystems, including identity, collaboration, communication, and productivity platforms
  • Develop and maintain APIs and connectors that enable interoperability between internal and external systems
  • Deploy, monitor, and operate containerized applications in cloud-native environments
  • Contribute to technical designs, architectural discussions, and engineering best practices
  • Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence
  • Deliver high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives across teams
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automation practices throughout the software development lifecycle
