Regional Environmental Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements:- We have experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- We have experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, environmental permit evaluations and applications, EIAs, and water discharge requirements.
- We hold a bachelors degree in environmental science, chemical or environmental engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years serving as an environmental technical resource, compliance specialist, or program manager.
- We have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with experience in environmental reporting, documentation, environmental investigations, and developing corrective actions.
- We can work under pressure, handle regulatory deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
- We have strong English communication skills and can collaborate with various departments, external stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Preferred: We have experience in a data center or other critical environment, or in facilities management.
- Preferred: We hold a masters degree or equivalent in an environmental field.
- Preferred: We have knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
- Preferred: We have knowledge of waste management and circular economy principles.
- Preferred: We have experience with environmental auditing and compliance verification.
- Preferred: We understand climate change regulations and GHG reporting.
- We manage and ensure compliance with local and national environmental regulations, contractual obligations, and Amazon policy, and we represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies.
- We drive regional environmental programs by integrating with engineering, construction, and operations teams, fostering an environmentally responsible culture while maintaining environmental management processes and external accreditation.
- We ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards and environmental regulations.
- We develop, analyze, and present environmental metrics to measure, monitor, and forecast performance, and we identify risks while communicating insights to internal stakeholders.
- We submit time-critical environmental reports to various governmental agencies.
- We conduct environmental audits and incident investigations, complete regulatory reporting, and develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with operations and relevant stakeholders.
- We contribute to or lead environmental permitting processes, including preparation, submission, and negotiation of permit requirements with environmental authorities.
- We support site development and environmental compliance in the London, UK region.
- We provide environmental guidance to regional operations teams.
- We support environmental performance analysis, reporting, and metrics monitoring.
- We support new site development, including environmental permit preparation, authority communications, and operational compliance.
- We work with internal and external partners, including government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations, and other key stakeholders.
