Senior Lead Software Engineer Python Java

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with proficient advanced experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience leading an agile delivery team using scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives, and progress reporting to senior stakeholders
• Preferred: experience working in a front office environment within financial services
• Preferred: knowledge of Java, Python, TypeScript, and React

Responsibilities:

• Build, enhance, and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way
• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting beyond routine approaches
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Lead communities of practice across software engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Act as a front office developer within the QES technology team
• Collaborate closely with front office teams, including trading and structuring, to support the QES platform
• Develop platform and visualization components required by the desk
