Service Designer

Salary: £49,000 - 66,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need a strong grasp of the fundamentals of service design and the ability to apply them to drive measurable impact.
• We value experience working comfortably with ambiguity and helping teams find direction when the path is not obvious.
• We are looking for a strategic mindset, with the ability to design services that are scalable and built to last.
• We expect a natural focus on accessibility and inclusion.
• We need a clear communicator who can explain complex ideas simply and adapt to different audiences and contexts.
• We value an evidence-led approach, using research and insight to inform decisions.
• We look for emotional intelligence, including the ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics and handle difficult conversations constructively.
• Experience working in SFIA and DDaT-aligned environments is desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities:

• We set and align teams and stakeholders around a clear service vision.
• We facilitate workshops that drive alignment, clarity, and decision-making.
• We work as one team with clients to co-create solutions and build trusted partnerships.
• We collaborate across agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver iteratively.
• We use service blueprints, journey maps, and other artefacts to make complexity visible.
• We use data and performance insights to guide design decisions and measure success.
• We shape end-to-end services from discovery through to live.
• We lead the mapping of current and future states.
• We align digital delivery with policy and operational realities.
• We help define the structures, processes, and journeys that underpin great services.
