Technical Service Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £32,000 - 34,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for someone with a scientific background, ideally gained in a laboratory, life sciences, biotechnology, or technical instrumentation environment.
- We require proven experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software faults.
- Previous experience in an IT support role is essential.
- A science degree or medical background is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
- We need knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- We are looking for a practical, detail-focused, and people-oriented approach.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- We diagnose, troubleshoot, and coordinate the repair of hardware and software faults on advanced equipment.
- We manage workshop-based investigations and repairs of equipment returned from customer sites.
- We use diagnostic software and technical processes to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- We provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote support tools.
- We work closely with colleagues and technical teams to resolve complex issues.
- We maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and customer support cases within our CRM system.
- We support field-based engineers throughout the UK when required.
- We occasionally accompany Field Service Engineers to customer sites across locations such as Oxford, Cambridge, and London.
- We provide IT support to office and field-based staff.
- We troubleshoot day-to-day issues such as Windows 11, password resets, and user access.
- We support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and general IT systems.
- We assist with onboarding and offboarding, equipment setup, and IT asset tracking.

We are offering a full-time, permanent Technical Service Engineer position based in Aylesbury, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break.
