Technical Service Engineer

Salary: £32,000 - 34,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with a scientific background, ideally gained in a laboratory, life sciences, biotechnology, or technical instrumentation environment.
• We require proven experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software faults.
• Previous experience in an IT support role is essential.
• A science degree or medical background is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
• We need knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
• We are looking for a practical, detail-focused, and people-oriented approach.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities:

• We diagnose, troubleshoot, and coordinate the repair of hardware and software faults on advanced equipment.
• We manage workshop-based investigations and repairs of equipment returned from customer sites.
• We use diagnostic software and technical processes to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• We provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote support tools.
• We work closely with colleagues and technical teams to resolve complex issues.
• We maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and customer support cases within our CRM system.
• We support field-based engineers throughout the UK when required.
• We occasionally accompany Field Service Engineers to customer sites across locations such as Oxford, Cambridge, and London.
• We provide IT support to office and field-based staff.
• We troubleshoot day-to-day issues such as Windows 11, password resets, and user access.
• We support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and general IT systems.
• We assist with onboarding and offboarding, equipment setup, and IT asset tracking.
• We liaise with central IT teams for escalations.

We are offering a full-time, permanent Technical Service Engineer position based in Aylesbury, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break.
