UX Designer

Salary: £33,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience working as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer or similar UCD role
• Experience designing complex digital products and services
• Previous government or public sector experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of user-centred design (UCD) principles and methodologies
• Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and interaction designs
• Experience using research and usability testing to iterate and improve designs
• Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design
• Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Knowledge of GDS Service Standards and GOV.UK design patterns would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Join our major public sector digital transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary digital team designing accessible, intuitive and user-centred digital services
• Work closely with User Researchers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Business Analysts and technical teams
• Use research and evidence to understand user needs and translate them into effective service experiences
• Design user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and interaction designs
• Use research and usability testing to iterate and improve designs

We are hiring a UX Designer for a hybrid role based in Leeds, with 3 days per week onsite and the remaining days working remotely. This is an initial 6-month contract, inside IR35, with a negotiable day rate depending on experience. We are looking for someone who can regularly commute to Leeds and contribute to a major public sector digital transformation programme within a multidisciplinary team.
