Solutions Architect

Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require an understanding of the IT and software development lifecycle, including methodologies such as Agile, and associated reviews, policies, standards, and governance processes.
• We require proven experience designing, developing, and deploying major IT applications, and understanding how those applications support business processes.
• We require proven knowledge and experience working within architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Applicants must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard as a minimum. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, which typically requires 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency, depending on the vetting level.
• Security and export control restrictions may affect eligibility based on factors such as nationality, previously held nationalities, and place of birth.

Responsibilities:

• We expect you to define solution architecture and design for projects, meeting business and system requirements within cost and timescale constraints and the agreed architectural and technical framework.
• We expect you to capture the as-is and to-be application, data, and technology architectures for assigned projects.
• We expect you to provide Project Technical Authority leadership, ensuring the solution architecture and design meet requirements and are communicated effectively.
• We expect you to provide design management and governance through change and configuration management activities.
• We expect you to design and implement solutions across the Naval Ships environment, govern architecture, drive adoption of standards, and manage the long-term health of the IT estate.

This Solutions Architect role is UK-wide, with locations in Scotstoun, Filton, New Malden, and Portsmouth, and hybrid working typically involving two to three days per week on site; flexible arrangements may be available. The salary is up to £77,000, depending on skills and experience. You will work on international programmes and have the opportunity to support digital transformation in a manufacturing environment, alongside a motivated team.
