Senior Credit Risk Data Scientist

Salary: £41,000 - 58,000 per year

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade machine learning systems
• Strong knowledge of predictive modelling and credit risk concepts, including IV, ROC AUC, SHAP, PD, EAD, LGD and expected loss
• Experience writing production-grade code and maintaining high-quality code
• Comfort working with Python, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, ZenML, Dagster and Weights & Biases
• Ability to communicate technical findings and explain their commercial impact to stakeholders
• Experience in highly automated lending, price sensitivity modelling or Customer Lifetime Value is a plus
• Comfortable using AI as an accelerant and taking ownership of outcomes

Responsibilities:

• Own the full lifecycle of our credit risk models, from development through deployment and maintenance
• Build fast, reproducible and robust production machine learning systems
• Design modelling frameworks for decisioning, pricing and fraud that improve company-wide financial performance
• Develop credit policies and lending strategies that expand our addressable market while managing risk
• Ensure model improvements are statistically significant and assessed for data leakage and bias
• Translate technical findings into business trade-offs, including the revenue and loss implications of model performance
• Review code, mentor colleagues and contribute to shared team libraries
