Senior Cloud Developer

Salary: £42,000 - 82,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline
• Typically 7–10+ years of experience
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang, or JavaScript
• Understanding of microservice architecture and building cloud-native applications in containerized, Kubernetes-managed environments
• Experience designing and integrating software systems across multiple platform types
• Experience evaluating software testing methods and processes, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and using testing scripts and tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present product architectures and design proposals to senior management
• Recognized expertise in key technology areas, with the ability to provide technical leadership, mentor others, and contribute to the technical community
• Ability to make substantial technical contributions to products, projects, or strategic and architectural direction

Responsibilities:

• Build cloud solutions for mission-critical applications and develop end-to-end technical approaches to solve customer problems
• Break down complex data and develop, prototype, design, and implement cloud-based solutions
• Collaborate with project managers and development partners to deliver, deploy, operate, monitor, and support cloud engagements
• Contribute business value expertise to develop innovative service offerings for our Cloud Services portfolio across systems, platforms, and applications
• Lead the identification, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies, innovations, and strategic partnerships
• Develop and implement methodologies, standards, and best practices for software systems design, development, and integration
• Use domain expertise to influence decisions and collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives
• Promote continuous innovation, thought leadership, and excellence in software systems design, and help build our technical community
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to senior technical teams, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and strong performance
• Analyze scientific, engineering, business, and other data-processing problems and develop solutions to complex application, system administration, or network issues
