NMC Cyber Security Engineering Lead

Salary: £35,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience supporting and developing SIEM platforms in a Security Operations Centre across a multi-tenant environment
• Practical experience creating, testing, implementing, and supporting custom tooling for Security Operations
• Proven line management experience leading security engineers and analysts
• Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work without close supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical subjects
• Ability to coordinate, track, and report project milestones, risks, and blockers to senior management
• Broad cyber security awareness and practical experience
• Eligible for NPPV3 and SC clearances; NPPV3 clearance must be approved before start
• Relevant cloud certification or equivalent experience
• Previous public sector experience
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Sentinel, or other SIEM platforms
• Experience working with code repositories and CI/CD

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team in creating, configuring, and maintaining technology platforms and tooling that support security operations within the National Management Centre
• Contribute to technical designs and documentation for new and existing solutions
• Act as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for other team members
• Support forces with the configuration of Sentinel and log sources
• Coordinate the testing, implementation, and configuration of new data sources
• Contribute to the management of SIEM content, including detections
• Provide line management for NMC Cyber Security Engineers
• Work with wider NMC teams to support continual service improvement and innovation
• Help protect front-line policing from cyber-attacks
• Support the delivery of threat detection and response capabilities across the technology estate
