NMC Cyber Security Engineering Lead
Job Description
Salary: £35,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience supporting and developing SIEM platforms in a Security Operations Centre across a multi-tenant environment
- Practical experience creating, testing, implementing, and supporting custom tooling for Security Operations
- Proven line management experience leading security engineers and analysts
- Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work without close supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical subjects
- Ability to coordinate, track, and report project milestones, risks, and blockers to senior management
- Broad cyber security awareness and practical experience
- Eligible for NPPV3 and SC clearances; NPPV3 clearance must be approved before start
- Relevant cloud certification or equivalent experience
- Previous public sector experience
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Sentinel, or other SIEM platforms
- Experience working with code repositories and CI/CD
- Lead a team in creating, configuring, and maintaining technology platforms and tooling that support security operations within the National Management Centre
- Contribute to technical designs and documentation for new and existing solutions
- Act as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for other team members
- Support forces with the configuration of Sentinel and log sources
- Coordinate the testing, implementation, and configuration of new data sources
- Contribute to the management of SIEM content, including detections
- Provide line management for NMC Cyber Security Engineers
- Work with wider NMC teams to support continual service improvement and innovation
- Help protect front-line policing from cyber-attacks
- Support the delivery of threat detection and response capabilities across the technology estate
