Junior IT Support Technician

Salary: £24,000 - 24,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with 1 to 2 years experience working within IT and a genuine interest in technology.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Good knowledge of routers and networking.
• Some knowledge or experience of one or more of the following: VMware, SAN/NAS, firewalls, and Linux.
• A working knowledge of ITIL is an advantage.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and individually.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems and identify suitable solutions.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible attitude to working hours.
• Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to our customers across our Chisholm and BTC client estates.
• Deliver first-line support via the Service Desk, receiving incidents and service requests by telephone and through the ticketing system.
• Provide excellent customer care and service.
• Install and configure computer software, operating systems, and applications.
• Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
• Troubleshoot system and networking problems, diagnose and resolve hardware or software faults within agreed time limits and processes.
• Support the rollout of new applications.
• Set up new user accounts and profiles and resolve password issues.
• Configure and test new hardware and software for production use.
• Carry out routine maintenance and housekeeping on our IT systems and infrastructure.

We are recruiting a full-time IT Support Technician to join our team at our head office in Ashington, Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive team environment, with full training provided on our bespoke in-house systems. Our IT team works on a shift pattern of 37.5 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays, with occasional evening working required.
