BI Developer

Salary: £38,000 - 78,000 per year

Requirements:

• Advanced experience designing, developing and maintaining high-quality Power BI dashboards, reports and semantic models.
• Strong understanding of visual design principles, user experience and storytelling through data.
• Confident developing DAX measures, calculations and business logic within Power BI.
• Ability to present data in a way that highlights trends, opportunities and performance drivers.
• Experience improving report usability, model performance and scalability within Power BI.
• Comfortable querying and validating data using SQL to support reporting and analysis.
• Able to investigate reporting issues, challenge requirements and recommend the best solution for the business.
• Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline.
• Highly experienced in developing Power BI solutions in a commercial environment.
• Highly experienced in building semantic models, dashboards and self-service reporting solutions.
• Familiar with data modelling principles and reporting best practices.
• Familiarity with dbt, modern data platforms and analytics engineering concepts would be beneficial.
• Strong customer focus, communication, collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement and curiosity.
• Able to explain data and reporting concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Help shape and enhance our reporting and analytics capability.
• Develop impactful Power BI solutions that enable colleagues across the business to make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Work closely with stakeholders and our data team to translate business requirements into intuitive dashboards, robust semantic models and actionable insights.
• Improve how data is consumed across the organisation by championing best practice in visualisation, usability and self-service analytics.
• Investigate reporting issues, challenge requirements and recommend the best solution for the business.
• Take responsibility for the quality, accuracy and usability of reports and dashboards.
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve reporting standards, user experience and adoption.
