Junior IT Business Analyst

Salary: £30,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience as a Support Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar hybrid technical role
• Strong SQL skills, including writing queries, joining tables, and analysing relational databases to troubleshoot issues
• Experience handling first- and second-line application or software support
• Strong requirements-gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to commute to our Kings Cross office at least 2 days per week and occasionally to our Borehamwood and Horsham offices
• Excellent English proficiency, including strong vocabulary and grammar
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to work independently, maintain momentum, and approach end-user issues with empathy
• Motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to go the extra mile
• Desirable: knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, and manual or automated testing
• Desirable: experience writing clear, structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Desirable: experience with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow and documentation tools such as Confluence
• Desirable: knowledge of Agile methodology
• A full, clean driving licence and own transport would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for technical and application-related queries
• Triage, investigate, and resolve first- and second-line support tickets within agreed SLAs
• Escalate complex third-line issues to engineering or vendor teams, providing clear diagnostic information
• Monitor system health and identify recurring technical trends or problems
• Gather and translate user requirements into clear technical specifications
• Use SQL to query databases, investigate data anomalies, and extract insights
• Map current and future business workflows to support system optimisation
• Liaise between non-technical business stakeholders and technical teams
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge-base articles
• Support User Acceptance Testing cycles with business stakeholders

This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Central London near Kings Cross, with at least two office days per week; office days will be agreed. The salary is £27,000–£33,000 depending on experience.
