Software Engineer III (Java & JavaScript)
Job Description
Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year
Requirements:- Proficiency with data manipulation languages and understanding of data modelling principles, complex data models, and data storage subsystems.
- Proficiency in development languages and technologies including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, Node.js, React, XML, SQL, Windows, and UNIX.
- Experience with Keycloak, Auth0, or another identity provider, including realm configuration, authentication flows, and OIDC client setup.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall, and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with code coverage and industry best practices, and the ability to write and review detailed specifications for moderately complex system components.
- Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes and work effectively with internal and external technology resources.
- Preferred: experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Codex, for test authoring, stub generation, coverage analysis, or investigating test output, with appropriate review and validation.
- Preferred: experience with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool, including reading infrastructure definitions and understanding how configuration changes affect system behavior and test coverage.
- Preferred: experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Interface with technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements.
- Write and review portions of detailed specifications for moderately complex system components.
- Collaborate with development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
- Implement development processes and coding best practices, and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across development environments, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Use GitHub workflows, pull requests, and issue tracking to collaborate with distributed or co-located teams.
- Resolve technical issues and complete bug fixes.
