Golang Developer

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in at least one back-end, type-safe programming language; Golang is preferred, but other experience can be considered.
• Comfortable and experienced with back-end microservice architecture and communication, specifically REST and asynchronous messaging services such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Comfortable working within a Scrum framework as part of a team to deliver business functions and customer journeys that are tested and automated throughout the CI/CD pipeline to production.
• A bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in professional software development.
• Solid understanding of test-driven development, including unit, component, functional, system integration, and regression tests.
• Knowledge of software engineering methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Test-Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, and Waterfall.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: Kafka, Postgres, Golang, Git, gRPC, Docker, GraphQL.
• Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous testing, including tools such as Jenkins, Rally, and/or JIRA, and version control such as Git or SVN.
• Practical use of interfaces within a Go application.
• Familiarity with PUT or PATCH methods.
• Understanding of CAP theory.
• Good familiarity with Go packages, concurrency patterns, and the distinction between goroutines.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, including several databases.

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance features in the Account domain as a Software Engineer on a Scrum team.
• Coordinate and work with other engineers across the platform to share knowledge and principles.
• Drive innovation and grow knowledge and skills as an engineer.
• Take ownership of an area of the codebase while relying on others to own issues in their applications and areas of the codebase.
