Senior Data Engineer Microsoft Fabric

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need you to have genuine hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience in your current or most recent role, with continuity beyond initial implementation.
• We expect strong experience with Power BI.
• We need strong data engineering skills, including SQL and data modelling.
• We expect experience with ETL/ELT.
• We need experience with Azure data platforms.
• We expect experience integrating internal and third-party APIs.
• We need experience with Git/source control.
• We expect experience with CI/CD and deployment.
• We need experience building and supporting production data solutions.
• We need experience working in a highly regulated environment.
• We strongly prefer previous Financial Services experience, particularly Wealth Management, Banking, or Insurance.
• Azure Synapse experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
• Practical use of Copilot or another LLM in engineering work would be useful.
• You need to live within approximately one hours commute of Leeds.
• You need to be prepared to work from an office up to three days per week if future business requirements change.

Responsibilities:

• We design, build, and deploy production solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
• We work with Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, and OneLake.
• We build data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• We develop Power BI solutions.
• We use SQL and data modelling in our data engineering work.
• We work with Azure Data Lake.
• We integrate internal and third-party APIs.
• We use Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD.
• We support production deployments and ongoing operations.
• We work on existing Azure Synapse solutions during the transition to Fabric.
• We contribute to engineering quality and maintainability.
• We solve production problems.
• We share knowledge with other engineers.

We are a UK Wealth Management business modernising our enterprise data platform and moving from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric. This Senior Data Engineer role is based in Leeds on a hybrid working arrangement, with current office attendance typically two days per month in either London or Birmingham. The package includes a salary of £65,000 to £75,000, a 10% annual bonus, a 7% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, and income protection. We are increasing investment in AI, including Azure AI Foundry, and this role offers the opportunity to grow with that broader data and technology environment.
