Cloud Platform Lead

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• 7 years experience, with strong hands-on Azure platform engineering
• Proven delivery of cloud migration and modernisation programmes
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep or ARM) and CI/CD pipelines youve owned end to end
• Strong networking, identity (Entra ID) and cloud security knowledge
• Experience in ITIL-aligned service organisations
• Desirable: Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent), ITIL v4 Foundation, FinOps exposure

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement the Azure platform, including landing zones, reference architectures, hosting and automation
• Help set engineering standards for resilience, security, scalability and performance
• Lead cloud migration and modernisation, including hybrid integration with the legacy on-prem estate
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD adoption across the organisation
• Build platforms secure by design, aligned to ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials
• Embed cost visibility and FinOps practice into platform design
• Define runbooks, monitoring and alerting so everything we build is properly supportable
• Work alongside infrastructure, workplace, security and data teams to remove friction and enable delivery

We are hiring a Cloud Platform Lead in Glasgow on a permanent, hybrid basis with 3 days on site and a salary of up to £80,000, plus discretionary bonus, 8% pension, 23 days holiday, your birthday off and Scottish bank holidays. This is a build role where you will be our lead cloud engineer, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Service, designing our Azure platform from the ground up and helping shape the engineering standards our wider technology function works to. There is no existing cloud team, so you will build the capability and grow a team around you as we scale.
