Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms)

Salary: £117,000 - 122,200 per year

Requirements:

• Must have the right to work in the UK and be based near London.
• Prior experience in the media broadcasting industry, specifically with digital asset management, Cloud NAS, and video ingest or similar workflows.
• Strong cloud DevOps skill set.
• Hands-on scripting experience in Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, preferably, or GCP, and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
• Strong experience in platform, cloud, or backend software engineering.
• As a senior member of a small technical team, we need someone with an architecture mindset who can design and code solutions that scale across numerous digital media channels, platforms, and brands.
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
• Experience with digital asset management, cloud storage, or media ingestion platforms.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and test-driven development (TDD).
• AWS or GCP professional-level certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, video ingest, and workflow services.
• Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise technology standards.
• Design automation, scripting, and API integrations to streamline media processing and operational workflows.
• Mentor engineering team members and promote high-quality software development and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient releases.
• Collaborate with external technology partners to resolve integration and architectural challenges.
• Provide technical design and development/implementation of systems that industrialise media workflows.
• Act as the primary technical authority for Cloud NAS integration, media ingest pipelines, and automated metadata scripting.
