Applied AI Engineer, Markets Operations Associate

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• We require strong Python programming skills.
• We require experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs, such as with FastAPI.
• We require experience building and supporting ETL and data pipeline engineering workflows.
• We require experience applying Infrastructure as Code practices, such as Terraform, and working within CI/CD pipelines.
• We require experience designing and integrating databases and data models.
• We require experience with monitoring practices and an understanding of controls and compliance concepts in production environments.
• We require strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• We require the ability to collaborate effectively on multi-disciplinary teams and incorporate feedback into work.

Responsibilities:

• We contribute to technology and architecture patterns that enable AI solutions across Markets Operations and software engineering use cases.
• We build and enhance robust, scalable, reusable AI services and supporting infrastructure using modern technologies.
• We collaborate with AI and data science specialists to design, develop, test, and deploy services integrated with strategic systems and operational processes.
• We learn Markets Operations processes and apply that knowledge to develop practical solutions and integrations with banking operations systems.
• We evaluate new AI infrastructure technologies and share findings to inform technical decisions.
• We document designs, implementation details, and tradeoffs to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• We support scalability, reliability, and security of AI and machine learning solutions in production, with a focus on operational readiness and sustainability.
• We partner with operations stakeholders to understand workflow pain points and translate them into practical technology solutions.
