Product Support Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background and a passion for delivering effective support solutions.
- Experience supporting complex electronic, networked or mission systems.
- Strong hardware fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience administering and maintaining secure networked environments.
- Knowledge of product support, service management and through-life support principles.
- Experience working within engineering laboratories or test environments.
- An understanding of configuration, asset and equipment management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- We would like someone who is happy to work from our Crawley office 3-4 days per week.
- Highly desirable: knowledge or experience of the Crowsnest Mission System.
- Highly desirable: defence, aerospace or mission-critical systems experience.
- Highly desirable: experience in field service or customer support environments.
- Highly desirable: understanding of reliability, maintainability and supportability engineering principles.
- Highly desirable: experience with DRACAS, LSA, RM&T or obsolescence management activities.
- This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats.
- To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
- We will have you act as a focal point for engineering and technical support queries relating to supported products and systems.
- We will have you provide technical advice to engineering teams, programme teams, manufacturing, repair organisations and customers.
- We will have you support product investigations, fault diagnosis, repairs and corrective actions.
- We will have you identify and implement design and supportability improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- We will have you manage technical documentation, reports, estimates and engineering deliverables.
- We will have you administer and maintain Business Management Network (BMN) environments.
- We will have you manage system security, software updates, patches and configuration control.
- We will have you maintain network integrity, user access controls and accreditation requirements.
- We will have you support audits and implement corrective actions where required.
- We will have you diagnose and resolve network and system faults.
- We will have you maintain a safe, secure and effective engineering laboratory environment.
- We will have you manage the crypto associated with the Crowsnest laboratory.
- We will have you manage lab access controls, equipment configuration and utilisation.
- We will have you support the setup, maintenance and operation of test rigs and lab infrastructure.
- We will have you manage shared resources and coordinate laboratory activities across projects.
- We will have you support procurement, calibration, maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
- We will have you provide product support and technical guidance to customer-facing teams.
- We will have you support activities at customer facilities when required.
- We will have you act as an interface between engineering teams, support organisations and customers.
- We will have you participate in trials, demonstrations and technical engagements when required.
- We will have you support risk, opportunity and obsolescence management activities.
- We will have you contribute to support solutions, reliability and maintainability improvements.
- We will have you work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- We will have you coach and share technical knowledge with colleagues and developing engineers.
