Systems Engineer AWS

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of Linux system administration and strong troubleshooting skills across application, network, and host levels
• Experience with systems automation using BASH, Python, Perl, or similar tools
• Experience with network fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and HTTP
• Exposure to cloud computing concepts and design considerations
• Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar systems
• Ability to be a UK national and obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Help implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve complex technical problems
• Operate and engineer systems at massive scale
• Investigate customer issues and root causes, including metric trends and service behavior
• Consult with senior engineers to diagnose and resolve issues
• Own our services and support out-of-hours operations as smoothly as possible
• Apply Operational Excellence best practices and automate manual processes
• Troubleshoot, innovate fixes, and create workarounds using Linux skills
• Keep software up to date and provide data and metrics to support capacity and efficiency management
• Identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues
• Communicate clearly, collaborate with others, and deliver results
• Work as self-starters in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and change
• Stay customer-obsessed and resolve customer pain points quickly and completely
