Software Engineering Team Lead
Job Description
Salary: £30,000 - 52,000 per year
Requirements:- British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
- Security Clearance (SC) is required to be obtained for this role.
- Experience with C or C++ is essential; experience with Ada and/or JavaScript is also relevant.
- Experience with shell scripting languages and a solid background in software engineering.
- Team leading experience is beneficial.
- Ability to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and contributing to design and implementation decisions.
- Experience writing and reviewing technical documentation, and providing regular progress updates and engineering demos.
- Linux experience is beneficial.
- Lead a mid-sized development team working on our new missile-system middleware solution.
- Manage Agile sprints, ceremonies, and backlog prioritisation.
- Develop software systems and processes to ensure smooth software delivery.
- Facilitate effective coordination among team members, ensuring tasks are assigned and deadlines are met.
- Ensure the team follows software development best practices, quality assurance processes, and coding standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation.
- Work across multiple applications on both land and maritime projects in the systems software department.
- Build a strong working relationship with the Software Project Leader to support team working.
