Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Baseline knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud or artificial intelligence
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams and contribute to an inclusive, innovative culture
  • Demonstrated ability to code in one or more programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, and ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations
  • Understanding of software development skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and improvement
  • Proficiency with development toolsets
  • Basic knowledge of industry technology trends and best practices
  • Basic understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
  • Preferred: Exposure to cloud technologies, ideally AWS
  • Preferred: Exposure to or interest in developing services in Go (Golang)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Preferred: Exposure to AI-assisted developer tools and AI agents, such as Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent
  • Preferred: Awareness of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
  • Preferred: Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace
Responsibilities:
  • Execute basic software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with peer guidance
  • Interpret architecture and design representations and nonfunctional requirements to develop secure, stable software within a defined architecture
  • Support the design, build, and operation of resilient, scalable services deployed to AWS in line with our public cloud standards
  • Apply automation to reduce manual work in the software development life cycle
  • Address basic code quality issues
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistance to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
  • Apply software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize basic data sets for technical troubleshooting and continuous improvement
  • Break down routine technical tasks to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Participate in software engineering communities of practice and events exploring emerging cloud technologies
