Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience building scalable, highly available services and products.
• Experience designing and maintaining build, test, and deployment pipelines as part of delivering robust software systems.
• Knowledge of security engineering practices and methods.
• Technical expert in a chosen domain, with a willingness to adapt to new technologies to support the team.
• Creative problem solver who organises a team around a challenge.
• Experience working with agile methodologies and lean thinking methods.
• Active learner, both within your technical and professional area of expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of first-class technical solutions while contributing to a culture of innovation, enthusiasm, and passion.
• Work with Engineering Managers and Product Management to support team goals and objectives.
• Own key aspects of the development life cycle, from design to implementation, testing, security, and maintenance.
• Ensure testing and security standards are embedded into the software the team produces.
• Participate in a community of practice for engineering to develop and share knowledge.
• Lead design reviews, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility with peers and colleagues.
• Address all aspects of technology and service readiness.
• Participate effectively in software development methodologies such as pairing, code and documentation review, and continuous delivery.
• Mentor other members of the team.
• Work with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Engineering Leadership to design solutions and consider technical and operational trade-offs.
• Interact with cross-functional engineering teams across the company to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
