Job Description

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • We require a minimum of 2 or 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • We require current experience developing high quality, high performing code in modern C++ (C++17 and higher).
  • We require strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
  • We require experience with inter-process communication frameworks such as gRPC, DDS, Zenoh, or similar.
  • We require experience working with deployed hardware systems and remote device management.
  • We require experience with unit testing methodologies such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), and proficiency with frameworks such as Google Test (gtest) or similar tools.
  • We require the ability to independently solve problems while being comfortable asking for help when needed.
  • We require comfort with complexity and the ability to think through consequences of changes in a highly interconnected ecosystem across varied use environments.
  • We require a high level of code craftsmanship and a focus on quality.
  • Preferred experience includes GUI frameworks such as React or Qt.
  • Preferred familiarity with regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, finance, or aerospace.
  • Preferred knowledge of AWS, systems engineering principles, and core security concepts.
Responsibilities:
  • We work within highly technically diverse multidisciplinary teams, including application software, embedded, and cloud platform teams.
  • We contribute to the core application software by developing enhancements for our existing intra-operative devices.
  • We take ownership of the maintainability and reliability of the application software in our existing intra-operative devices and help develop the software stack for our next generation intra-operative devices.
  • We maintain and enhance methods for device monitoring and cloud connectivity.
  • We investigate, debug, and resolve issues reported from testing and support.
  • We participate in relevant security and regulatory compliance processes.
  • We develop robust and secure-by-design software fit for a medical-grade system.
  • We are expected to commute frequently to our London-based office and be onsite 2 days per week.
