Senior Network Architect

Salary: £44,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5+ years of network architecture or senior network engineering experience in a regulated environment, focused on resilience and security.
• Knowledge of software-defined networking for data centre, wide-area, office and branch deployments, and internal and external connectivity solutions, including Cisco technology.
• 3+ years of practical experience designing or assuring network traffic flow controls, such as network segmentation, network access control, firewalls, intrusion prevention, network detection and response, and control mapping.
• 3+ years of experience producing and assuring architecture artefacts, such as high-level designs, options papers, architecture decision records, standards and governance submissions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience bringing architecture, engineering, cyber security, delivery and service teams together to make informed decisions.
• Experience with hybrid and public cloud connectivity, including integration between on-premises data centre networks and cloud-hosted services.
• Relevant transferable experience is welcomed; experience can be developed in many ways.

Responsibilities:

• Participate as a team member in solution architecture for the Bank network, connecting data centres, hosting locations, offices, branches and external services while ensuring developments are resilient, secure and meet enterprise standards.
• Produce and deliver reusable connectivity patterns and assist with migration approaches for major transformation activity.
• Help teams assess solutions for Bank network services, including routing, domain name services, load balancing, network traffic flow control and application deployment.
• Build trusted relationships across architecture, delivery and engineering, helping colleagues navigate ambiguity.
• Connect strategic architecture decisions with the design, assurance, deployment and operation of network and security changes, keeping risk, compliance and operational readiness in focus.
• Help shape the development of network architecture capability across the wider function.

We are hiring a full-time Senior Network Architect in our Core Infrastructure team, based in Leeds or Manchester, with a salary of £72,702–£80,780.
