Senior Data Engineer Microsoft Fabric Azure Data

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer in enterprise data environments.
• Strategic thinker with experience supporting the delivery of a strategy.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels of an organisation.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure data platforms, including Azure Synapse or an equivalent data platform.
• Experience with Azure SQL Server.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Practical delivery experience using medallion architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with DBT.

Responsibilities:

• Strengthen, evolve, and modernise our core data platforms.
• Take joint ownership of existing data pipelines and analytics platforms, ensuring they are stable, performant, and trusted by downstream consumers.
• Support and enhance ingestion and integration pipelines sourcing data from MS Dynamics CRM, MS Dynamics Finance & Operations, SAP SuccessFactors, and a range of bespoke and third-party systems.
• Develop and maintain the Azure Synapse-based ingestion and staging layer, including Synapse Link integrations and Synapse data pipelines for orchestration and movement.
• Support the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) built on Azure SQL Server.
• Deliver transformations using stored procedures, views, and DBT.
• Maintain a clear separation of bronze, silver, and gold layers aligned to a medallion architecture.
• Collaborate with BI and Analytics teams to ensure Gold layer data models support Power BI semantic models, executive dashboards, and operational reporting.
• Help ensure our data is reliable, scalable, secure, and ready to power advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and executive decision making.
