Quality Cell Lead

Salary: £104,000 - 104,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading functional, performance, and user acceptance testing strategies in complex software delivery environments.
• Hands-on experience or strong expertise using AI agents, prompts, and automated tooling to generate test cases, improve coverage, and optimize testing pipelines.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node/NPM), API and microservices testing, automated frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Playwright, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong test data management skills and experience with performance tools such as JMeter and monitoring platforms such as Grafana and Kibana.
• Based in a Nearshore or Midshore region, with strong English communication skills and availability aligned with UK working hours.
• Desirable: ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager qualification.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the quality strategy, technical acceptance criteria, and quarterly or six-month quality roadmaps across APIs and microservices architectures.
• Identify opportunities for agentic-driven delivery and oversee AI agents that author, maintain, and execute test cases, regression suites, and defect triage workflows.
• Establish quality standards, automated testing frameworks, and continuous delivery policies across delivery cells.
• Oversee API, component, load, and performance test coverage using automated tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, and JMeter integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Track quality metrics, including defect leakage, mean time to detect and resolve defects, automation execution rates, and testing-related technical debt.
• Partner with Technical Leads, Product Owners, and engineers to support scalable, secure, and reliable releases.

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Cell Lead to define, maintain, and improve quality requirements across multi-cell engineering delivery, with quality built in early rather than verified late. The role focuses in part on supervising and continuously improving an AI agent-driven testing capability. It is fully remote in Nearshore or Midshore regions, with GMT, CET, or EET time-zone alignment and UK working-hours availability. The contract runs through the end of February 2027, at a day rate of £400.
