MongoDB Site Reliability

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and MongoDB administration in financial services.
• We need experience using MongoDB features such as replica sets, sharding, backups, performance tuning, and shell scripting.
• We need experience writing scripts in Python or Bash to automate tasks and reduce manual work.
• Experience with Percona, ClusterControl, CI/CD tools, and automation platforms such as Ansible or Chef is highly valued.
• Experience monitoring systems with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack, and running containers with Kubernetes is highly valued.
• Experience building APIs with FastAPI and supporting scalable, high-performance systems is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

• We monitor and maintain our critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues while minimising disruption to operations.
• We provide technical support to resolve complex issues for a specific client or group of clients.
• We develop the support model and service offering to improve service to our customers and stakeholders.
• We carry out preventative maintenance on hardware and software and use monitoring tools and metrics to identify, prevent, and address potential issues.
• We maintain a knowledge base with detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self-service, and knowledge sharing.
• We analyse system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• We support automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity, front-office-specific support, and stakeholder management.
• We identify and remediate, or escalate through the appropriate process, potential service-impacting risks and issues.
• We proactively assess support activities and implement automation where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
• We tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting so issues are detected when they occur.
• We advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
• We collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
• We lead or support complex collaborative assignments, guide team members, and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
• We consult on complex issues, help resolve escalated issues, and develop new policies and procedures to strengthen risk and controls.
