Lead Security Architect

Salary: £38,000 - 68,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require DV clearance and eligibility for the appropriate clearance level, including UK sole nationality.
• We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in Cyber Security.
• We need proven experience in multicloud and edge architecture.
• We require Defence experience and familiarity with UK guidance.
• We are seeking CISSP or equivalent certification.
• We require TOGAF certification.
• We value adaptability and a pragmatic, positive attitude toward security as a business enabler.

Responsibilities:

• We lead the security elements of the programme across different use cases for AI/ML development and trials.
• We chair Security Working Groups and tri-nation collaboration.
• We manage security visibility, outcomes, and senior stakeholder engagement.
• We handle threat and risk management and translate ambiguous requirements into testable controls.
• We define classification-aware architectures, trust boundaries, and cross-domain data movement guardrails.
• We provide security guidance and controls for complex programmes.
• We lead the security roadmap, including DevSecOps, policy-as-code controls, and risk-based CI/CD gates.
• We govern supply chain security, including artefact signing, SBOMs, provenance, and SLSA-style controls.
• We work to reduce lead time to secure release, support zero-critical promotion checkpoints, improve supplier onboarding efficiency, and communicate risk to executives.
• We mentor junior team members.

We are a Defence-focused client offering a Lead Security Architect opportunity in Hampshire, with a 50% office-based and 50% remote working arrangement. The role is inside IR35 and is offered at £650 per day. You will help shape the security architecture and integration roadmap for AI/ML across multicloud environments, working in a pragmatic environment where security is valued as a business enabler. Our team supports complex programmes and collaboration across stakeholders, with opportunities to influence roadmap, controls, and mentoring within a defence context.
