Java Software Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and associated technologies
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with unit testing, test automation and TDD
• Experience with DevOps tooling and CI/CD
• Experience with debugging, profiling and performance tuning
• Experience with Agile software delivery
• Experience with Docker or other container technologies would be beneficial
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A genuine desire to continue developing technical knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality Java applications
• Write unit, integration and feature tests
• Work with other technical teams to understand requirements and resolve issues
• Create and maintain low-level technical designs and documentation
• Support CI/CD and software delivery activities
• Debug, performance tune and improve application reliability
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities
• Contribute to digital transformation and wider engineering projects

The role is part of an Agile/Scrum team and involves work throughout the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, debugging and deployment.
