Head of Modern Workplace

Salary: £90,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require experience as a Technical Authority, in Enterprise or Solution Architecture, and in Technology Strategy.
• We require strong experience with Microsoft Azure public cloud.
• We require experience in private cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• We require recent hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace technologies.
• We require experience in cloud migration, transformation, and modernisation.
• Experience in MSP, cloud environments, or consultancy would be highly advantageous.
• We require experience with Entra ID and identity and access management.
• We require experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop is required.
• We require experience with datacentre and virtualisation technologies.
• We require experience in secure architecture, Zero Trust, and cyber resilience.
• We require experience in technical governance, standards, and architectural decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• We act as the senior Technical Authority, providing governance across architecture, cloud, infrastructure, and Modern Workplace solutions.
• We define and evolve the overall technology strategy, technical roadmap, and architectural standards.
• We lead the technical direction across Azure public cloud, private cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and datacentre services.
• We provide strategic oversight of our Microsoft technology estate, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• We shape our Modern Workplace strategy, covering identity, endpoint management, collaboration, virtual desktop, and secure access.
• We define standards and reference architectures across cloud migration, modernisation, virtualisation, networking, resilience, and security.
• We evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities across cloud, AI, Copilot, automation, and digital transformation.
• We ensure technical solutions follow secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles.
• We work closely with senior leadership, customers, and commercial teams to ensure technology decisions support long-term business and customer objectives.
• We provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to technical managers, architects, and subject matter experts.
• We support strategic customer engagements, complex solution design, proposals, and technical presentations.

We are a leading consultancy embarking on an internal digital transformation journey, and we are seeking an experienced senior leader to guide the future of our clients Modern Workplace technologies, including M365, Azure, AI/Copilot, automation, security, identity, and workplace transformation. This is a permanent Head of Modern Workplace role based in Kent, with three days per week onsite, offering a salary of £90,000 to £110,000 plus benefits including an EV car scheme and private medical insurance. The interview process is two stages, and we are looking to start as soon as possible.
