Global Technology Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £57,000 - 97,000 per year
Requirements:- Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, including 2 years in a senior project or engineering leadership role within the consumer-packaged goods or pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of liquid filling, capping, and blister packing equipment across different product types and technologies.
- Experience driving equipment standardisation at a single site or preferably across multiple sites.
- Background in CAPEX management, including project prioritisation, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
- Experience working in global or matrixed organisations and navigating cross-functional and cross-regional complexity.
- Strong technical background with expertise in filling technologies, especially in pharmaceutical or personal care industries.
- Knowledge of filling, capping, and upstream equipment for different viscosities, product types, and technologies.
- Knowledge of process utility requirements including HVAC, drainage, compressed air, power, and data networking.
- Knowledge of primary material delivery, including bulk material feeding and process connection.
- Knowledge of storage and cleaning requirements and technologies, including dry and wet cleaning and CIP.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Focus on the development and deployment of filling, capping, and upstream equipment technology for common production equipment across the Reckitt group, across categories and geographies.
- Provide technical leadership, expertise, and support for equipment and systems related to filling, capping, and upstream equipment technology for liquids and creams packing.
- Own standardisation of equipment and vendor pool to leverage cost, lead time, efficiency, and best practices.
- Support compliant, reliable, and efficient operation of filling, capping, and upstream equipment systems in line with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Work in a cross-functional matrix organisation and foster a continuous improvement culture with close collaboration with factories.
- Engage cross-functional technical SMEs to set common standards for related production equipment across categories and geographies.
- Embed equipment standardisation within the CAPEX process to ensure equipment purchases follow process.
- Engage procurement to develop a vendor pool for self care and intimate wellness filling, capping, and upstream equipment, and assist in tender processes if required.
- Collaborate with vendors, system integrators, and IT/OT teams for new installations and upgrades.
- Develop URSs and standards for equipment to ensure performance improvement and deploy them across the business.
- Ensure standards are aligned to Reckitt and regulatory technical requirements.
- Provide technical advice through maintained up-to-date industry knowledge on filling, capping, and upstream equipment.
- Deliver and assist in delivery of key business CAPEX projects.
- Support and lead writing and reviewing URS, vendor selection, OEM progress monitoring, and FAT and SAT support for Site Capital Engineering teams.
- Review performance and KPIs for key OEMs.
- Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and compliance with Reckitt production system and Reliability Engineering, linking to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Capture inputs from RPS and Operations teams.
- Work with vendors to ensure standards follow the latest technological trends and implement innovative solutions where possible.
