Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience in debugging and triaging complex systems.
  • Experience using configuration management tooling, such as Terraform, to manage infrastructure in a repeatable manner.
  • Experience managing highly available Linux systems, both on-prem and in cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting containerized applications using systems such as Kubernetes, Docker, FluxCD or ArgoCD, and Helm.
  • Experience providing direct support to internal engineers and demonstrating customer empathy as part of a scheduled business-hours-only rotation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • 3-5 years of development experience and proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Go, Python, or Java.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing present needs with future optimizations.
  • Comfort handling tasks ranging from troubleshooting low-level OS issues to architecting robust artifact storage solutions.
  • An intrinsic motivation to learn, curiosity, dedication, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Demonstrated experience building high-quality solutions and owning them throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • A growth mindset and a bias for action.
  • Prior experience building tools that measurably improve developer experience and productivity.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leaders, trading teams, and developers to act as a force multiplier for the engineering population across the company.
  • Work within a US- and UK-based team with product and technical ownership of services provided by the Developer Experience team, including source control, build artifact repositories, AI-powered development tools, and other software development and delivery tools.
  • Participate in a scheduled support rotation during UK business hours to help internal engineering teams get the most out of our developer platforms.
  • Diagnose complex CI workflows, manage central infrastructure in Kubernetes, and ensure our tools are fully leveraged by internal developers.
  • Investigate and resolve intricate systems or build issues during support rotations.
  • Improve service reliability, performance, and observability of firm-wide critical infrastructure and tooling.
  • Work in a hybrid infrastructure environment, both cloud and on-prem, using infra-as-code patterns to reliably manage and scale the services we own.
  • Educate users on our tools, conduct end-user demonstrations as needed, and maintain high-quality self-service documentation.
  • Navigate novel build challenges, refine observability and alerting systems for firm-wide critical services, and build great developer workflows.
