Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - 49,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need proven experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS environments.
• We need strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• We need hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• We need strong scripting and automation skills, including Python, Bash, and AWS CLI.
• We need a good understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance best practices.
• We need excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• We consider experience with container technologies including Docker, ECS, or EKS desirable.
• We consider knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies desirable.
• We consider familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms desirable.
• We consider experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration initiatives desirable.
• We consider understanding of ITIL-based service management practices desirable.
• We consider exposure to AWS cost management and optimisation strategies desirable.

Responsibilities:

• We design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda.
• We optimise cloud environments for performance, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
• We develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• We support cloud migration and transformation projects.
• We implement and maintain cloud governance, security controls, and compliance standards.
• We monitor cloud services and proactively investigate incidents and performance issues.
• We create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• We act as a senior technical escalation point for AWS-related issues.
• We collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
• We evaluate new AWS services and technologies, recommending improvements where appropriate.
