Data and Automation Business Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £37,000 - 41,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience in a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Power Platform Developer, or similar role
- Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard creation
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
- Passion for automation, innovation, and continuous improvement
- SQL and/or Python experience (desirable)
- API integrations and automation experience (desirable)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or Copilot Studio (desirable)
- Experience implementing AI solutions within a business environment (desirable)
- Comfortable spending most of your time in our Dorset office
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Analyse, transform, and visualise data from multiple sources
- Build solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
- Develop automation workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions
- Identify and implement opportunities to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude
- Support data governance, security, and GDPR-compliant data handling
- Explore innovative approaches using AI, automation, and potentially Python-based solutions

We are a growing organisation pursuing digital transformation and AI adoption. Reporting to our IT Director, you will work with teams across the business to improve decision-making, streamline processes, and unlock the value of data through Power BI, Power Platform, and AI-driven solutions. This varied, hands-on role offers the opportunity to influence our AI and automation strategy and contribute to digital transformation projects, with exposure to emerging technologies and direct access to senior leadership in a collaborative environment. The role is based primarily in our Dorset office, with some hybrid flexibility potentially available. We offer a salary of £37,000–£41,000 depending on experience, an annual company bonus of up to 2.5% depending on financial performance, a pension, private medical insurance, and 25 days of annual holiday. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
