Senior Security Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £59,000 - 59,000 per year
Requirements:- Extensive information security engineering experience, with a track record of architecting and deploying resilient security systems at scale.
- Ability to translate security policies into enforceable technical standards and lead initiatives across departments.
- Expert knowledge of major cloud platforms, such as AWS and GCP, including secure multi-tenant architecture and security configuration audits.
- Deep proficiency in container and orchestration security, including Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Advanced scripting and programming skills for building security tools, automating SecOps tasks, and developing detection logic.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing SIEM, SOAR, and EDR systems, including high-fidelity alerting pipelines.
- Experience leading security integration into complex CI/CD lifecycles and scaling Security-as-Code initiatives.
- Comprehensive understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST, as well as data protection regulations and audit processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical responses to critical security incidents, with strong digital forensics and incident response skills.
- Architect and oversee advanced security monitoring frameworks and automated detection logic across diverse log sources.
- Serve as the final escalation point for the Security Support Desk, resolve high-impact incidents, and engineer systemic fixes for recurring issues.
- Lead security integration into CI/CD pipelines, deploy SAST, DAST, and SCA tools, define security gates with Engineering leads, and advise on complex vulnerabilities.
- Own vulnerability management for infrastructure and applications, prioritize remediation by business risk and exploitability, and lead cross-department efforts to address security gaps.
- Manage technical relationships with external penetration testers and bug bounty researchers.
- Design, implement, and optimize security infrastructure, including EDR, Zero Trust, IAM, and DLP, and automate security controls across a global multi-cloud environment.
- Lead technical responses to high-priority incidents, coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery, and conduct root cause analyses and prevention planning.
- Lead internal security audits and maturity assessments, align systems with international standards and regulatory requirements, and define technical control standards.
- Advise on major business initiatives and assess the security of new technologies and third-party vendors, promoting Security by Design.
