Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in infrastructure and web application security testing using established testing methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience with open-source security testing tools, such as Kali and Parrot operating systems
  • Understanding of software engineering principles
  • Confidence producing comprehensive, accurate security testing reports for internal audiences and delivering briefings on outcomes when required
  • Broad and detailed experience with technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, Active Directory, endpoint protection, Windows Server, Linux, TCP/IP, networks, cloud, CDNs, and vulnerability management
  • Applicants must meet at least the Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting; applicants typically need 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency, depending on the vetting level. Security and export control restrictions may affect eligibility based on factors including nationality, previously held nationalities, and place of birth.
Responsibilities:
  • Support Red Team exercises, critical control testing, cyber hygiene assessments, and penetration testing
  • Produce comprehensive, accurate reports for internal audiences, grade vulnerabilities in the context of BAE Systems, and pass findings to resolver groups for resolution
  • Ensure remediation is carried out in line with documented processes
  • Identify security weaknesses and misconfigurations and raise them with the appropriate resolver groups
  • Contribute to the development of Red Team services across people, process, and technology
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the external threat environment and attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Continually test and validate security controls and SOC detection capabilities, providing assurance that defensive measures remain effective against evolving threats
  • Support organisational and departmental objectives, maintain high security standards, and provide Cyber Operations leadership with assurance on the effectiveness of security monitoring and detection capabilities

The salary is £53,000 or more, depending on experience.
