Finance Systems Enterprise Architect
Job Description
Salary: £29,000 - 62,000 per year
Requirements:- Expert knowledge of Oracle Financials, particularly Oracle R12 and/or Oracle Cloud, and detailed understanding of Finance business processes
- Strong experience designing complex enterprise integration architectures involving APIs, middleware, batch processing, messaging technologies, and event-driven integration patterns
- Extensive understanding of Finance data architecture, master data management, reference data, chart of accounts design, and enterprise data governance
- Demonstrated experience designing highly automated Finance processes that improve efficiency while strengthening governance and internal controls
- Professional architecture certification, such as TOGAF or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect
- Oracle Financials certification or equivalent
- Oil, gas, or energy experience is essential
- Substantive understanding of accounting principles or an accounting qualification is preferred
- Develop, maintain, and govern the target-state Finance Systems Architecture across Finance applications, aligning it with our Digital Finance Strategy, Enterprise Architecture standards, and long-term technology roadmap
- Design and govern integrations among Oracle R12 (Voyager and Orbis), OneStream, Kyriba, Emburse, Neeyamo, BlackLine, Supplier Master Data, Azolve, Payroll Benefits, Oracle Time & Labour, Aveva ERM, and other Finance-related applications
- Ensure reliable, secure, resilient, and efficient data flows across the application landscape
- Design Finance processes holistically across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Project Accounting, Treasury, Payroll, Tax, Statutory, Management, and Enterprise Performance Management Reporting
- Eliminate unnecessary manual intervention and process duplication
- Define and govern Finance data architecture, including ownership, quality standards, reference data, Chart of Accounts, Supplier Master Data, organisational structures, and common data definitions
- Preserve the integrity, completeness, and auditability of financial data across system interfaces, including appropriate controls, reconciliation processes, and segregation of duties
- Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and review processes across Finance technology projects
- Review, modify, and approve solution designs from implementation partners and internal teams for compliance with agreed standards
- Identify opportunities to simplify Finance processes through automation, workflow optimisation, standardisation, and elimination of non-value-adding activities
- Ensure Finance solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and maintainable, minimising customisation and promoting configuration over bespoke development where practical
- Provide architectural leadership throughout programme delivery, from solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
- Provide technical oversight of implementation partners and software vendors, ensuring delivery aligns with our architectural standards, commercial objectives, and long-term operating model
- Ensure the Finance Systems Architecture supports evolving regulatory requirements, including Making Tax Digital, e-invoicing, statutory reporting, audit requirements, information security, and data governance
- Maintain a multi-year Finance Systems roadmap, identifying enhancements, technical debt reduction, platform optimisation, and emerging technologies that support our strategic objectives
- Define a framework for Finance application governance, rationalisation, and investment prioritisation
- Work with Cyber Security colleagues to identify and mitigate cyber risks across the Finance application suite
- Ensure the Finance Systems Architecture is documented, understood, and successfully transitioned to our managed services partner to support incident resolution, change management, and operational stability
