Requirements:
  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in complex technology or business transformation environments.
  • Ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders to achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial and strategic awareness, with the ability to align solutions with organisational goals.
  • Experience defining requirements, improving processes and designing solutions to shape business outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach, with experience working across multiple projects and navigating ambiguity in changing environments.
  • Proactive, outcome-focused approach, with confidence navigating complexity and driving change.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead workshops, build consensus and drive progress.
  • Experience delivering business analysis in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid environments, adapting your approach to the initiative.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working closely with technology teams to deliver business and customer value.
  • Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence or similar platforms to manage requirements, document processes and support delivery.
  • Successful candidates will be unable to maintain an Associate role with AQA or any other exam board.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into user stories, specifications, process maps and other delivery artefacts.
  • Support the design, development and implementation of technology solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing, including acceptance criteria, test scripts and issue resolution.
  • Manage risks, dependencies and backlog priorities to support successful delivery.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and records using tools such as Azure DevOps and SharePoint.
  • Share knowledge, promote continuous improvement and best practice, and support colleagues across the wider Business Analyst team.
  • Analyse processes, shape solution design and ensure business needs are translated into practical outcomes across projects, products and change initiatives.

We are AQA, an education charity, and this permanent Business Analyst role is based in Manchester, with hybrid working and a minimum of two days per week in the office. You will help deliver the systems and services that support assessment across our organisation and influence technology solutions that affect learners across the UK.
