Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a Network Performance or RAN Optimisation subject matter expert in mobile telecommunications
• Deep expertise in LTE, 5G and 5G+ performance management and optimisation
• Strong understanding of KPI definition, design, measurement and benchmarking
• Expert-level knowledge of Nokia RAN performance management and optimisation
• Hands-on experience investigating and optimising 4G LTE, 5G SA and NSA, VoNR, network slicing and end-to-end mobile services
• Strong understanding of Ericsson and Nokia counters, KPIs and troubleshooting methodologies
• Ability to analyse drive test logs, Wireshark and protocol analyser traces, UE Layer 1–3 logs and OSS performance data
• In-depth knowledge of LTE and 5G signalling
• Experience troubleshooting SIP, SRTP, DTLS and Push-to-Talk services
• Knowledge of 3GPP and ETSI standards
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with Nokia RAN, Ericsson RAN, Wireshark, Actix, Nemo, TEMS, Accuver, LTE parameters and timers, and OSS performance platforms
• Desirable experience in multi-vendor optimisation environments, emergency services or public safety networks, LTE/5G mission-critical communications, supplier and third-party vendor management, project delivery and network transformation, or technical solution design and requirements management

Responsibilities:

• Lead 4G/5G ESN performance management activities to exceed service SLAs and customer experience expectations
• Design, define and evolve performance KPIs aligned with real user experience
• Conduct root cause analysis of network performance issues across RAN and end-to-end services
• Develop optimisation plans using OSS trends, network counters, KPIs, crowdsourced data and customer performance metrics
• Perform feature and parameter optimisation trials across Nokia and Ericsson RAN networks
• Evaluate trial outcomes, quantify gains and assess wider network impacts
• Drive improvements in 5G Standalone, Non-Standalone and 4G/5G interworking performance
• Analyse drive test logs, protocol traces and performance data to identify service-affecting issues
• Investigate systematic network defects affecting public safety services, including Push-to-Talk performance
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver effective resolution plans
• Provide technical leadership and share knowledge across the optimisation community

We are seeking an experienced ESN 5G RAN/E2E Performance & Parameter Optimisation Specialist to support delivery and optimisation of the UKs Emergency Services Network. This high-impact role is part of the RAN Systematic Optimisation Team and focuses on performance, reliability and customer experience across a critical communications network. Working alongside industry experts, you will help shape network performance strategy, optimisation initiatives, performance targets, KPI frameworks, SLA achievement and future 5G+ capabilities. The role is based in London or Bristol on a hybrid basis, for a six-month contract with an ASAP start. BPSS security clearance is required.
