Cloud Platform Lead - Ipswich

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Were looking for someone with 7 years experience and strong hands-on Azure platform engineering skills.
• You have proven experience delivering cloud migration and modernisation programmes.
• You have owned Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep or ARM) and CI/CD pipelines end to end.
• You bring strong networking, identity (Entra ID) and cloud security knowledge.
• You have experience in ITIL-aligned service organisations.
• Desirable: Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent), ITIL v4 Foundation, or FinOps exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement our Azure platform, including landing zones, reference architectures, hosting and automation.
• Help us set engineering standards for resilience, security, scalability and performance.
• Lead cloud migration and modernisation, including hybrid integration with our legacy on-premises estate.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD adoption across our organisation.
• Build platforms that are secure by design and aligned to ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Embed cost visibility and FinOps practices into platform design.
• Define runbooks, monitoring and alerting so the platforms we build are properly supportable.
• Work with our infrastructure, workplace, security and data teams to remove friction and enable delivery.
• Build our cloud capability and grow a team as it scales.

Were hiring a permanent Cloud Platform Lead for a build-focused role, with a salary of up to £80,000 and a discretionary bonus, typically 3–5%. Youll report to our Head of Infrastructure & Service, design our Azure platform from the ground up and help shape engineering standards across our wider technology function. There is no existing cloud team, so youll build the capability and grow a team around you as it scales. We offer an 8% pension, 23 days holiday plus your birthday and Scottish bank holidays, and hybrid working with three days per week on site.
