SAP Finance Specialist - Harlow

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience developing and implementing the SAP R/3 ERP system
• Recognised financial qualifications supporting the candidates experience and knowledge of Finance
• Experience analysing Grouping, Pegging and Distribution (GPD) issues in the aerospace and defence industry
• Strong demonstrable experience with SAP ERP/MRP, particularly product cost management
• Functional expertise with SAP R/3 FI/CO/PS and integration experience with SAP PP/MM/SD modules
• SAP experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
• Understanding of IT systems disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management
• Ability to lead business-centred requirements discussions, build stakeholder consensus, and support requirements through technical design, deployment and operations
• Experience providing high-demand, mission-critical systems on a 24/7 basis
• Knowledge of service management disciplines and engagement, design, delivery and maintenance lifecycles in a high-technology or IT services domain
• Demonstrable problem-solving skills in complex support incidents
• Ability to build positive relationships with business and technical personnel
• Experience delivering high-demand business services in technology services environments and complex matrix structures
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in virtual teams and multi-party environments
• UK Eyes Only clearance requirements; currently holds or is eligible to obtain SC clearance
• Desirable: experience with other key transactional and reporting systems and data warehousing

• Preferably degree-level education in a software engineering discipline, although significant experience and a strong track record with tertiary qualifications are acceptable

Responsibilities:

• Support Finance and Manufacturing business-as-usual activities by resolving SAP issues and enabling accurate monthly processing
• Support the delivery and long-term operation of projects such as PST in the UK business
• Review transactions, including Distribution, Purchase Orders and Pegging, and work with business teams to resolve errors
• Manage financial calendars and schedules in SAP
• Train users on business process issues and GPD matters, including when knowledge gaps are identified
• Work with key users to identify, scope and implement system changes that improve processes and respond to business changes
• Provide cross-functional knowledge of how data moves between Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other business areas, and manage the impact of changes across those areas
• Act as the Business Process Expert and Super User for SAP and SAP BW activities across the business and IT, and serve as the first line of help for business users
• Review daily GPD Pegging and Distribution error reports, investigate new errors and recommend corrective actions
• Review daily GPD ZCMR Purchase Order reports, analyse movements in error accounts and recommend corrective actions
• Respond to business questions about GPD, determine whether issues are actual system problems or knowledge gaps, and explain cost movements and their causes
• Define business processes and procedures for using transactions
• Work with IT Technical System Experts to prioritise defects and describe system changes required by evolving business needs
• Serve as the IT Subject Matter Expert across Finance, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Commercial, bridging the organisations to support user engagement and IT understanding
• Plan work with the Head of ERP Services and support operational integrity and compliance, including information security, change management, asset management and software licensing
• Meet information systems assurance, governance and policy requirements by maintaining secure, stable IT platforms and adhering to company security, accreditation and audit requirements
• Lead troubleshooting of business-related service issues and support the implementation and measurement of service level agreements
• Maintain service quality and oversee complex customer service events through to resolution
• Manage service incidents, problems and changes using agreed documented processes, including supporting releases in line with technology roadmaps and demand management
• Maintain associated documentation, support procedures and support rota and cover arrangements
