Game Balance Specialist

Requirements:

• Highly experienced player of live-service games across multiple genres.
• Ability to clearly break down and explain design choices, including the pros and cons of characters, maps, modes, gameplay customizations, progression balancing, and events.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly through documentation, presentations, and visual tools.
• Comfortable working with designers and product managers from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative and flexible environment where the role may evolve with development plans.

Responsibilities:

• Playtest in-development core gameplay and meta features and provide feedback on how target player cohorts will engage with them.
• Collaborate with meta designers, game mode designers, combat designers, and other departments to assess alignment with design goals and suggest improvements.
• Work with meta designers and product managers to evaluate the value and satisfaction players with different spend profiles derive from product offerings.
• Collaborate with UX research, community, and analytics teams to support feedback analysis and derive insights.
• Provide feedback in written documentation, with images or clips from the game, and verbally in meetings to inform design decisions.

The pay rate is £20 per hour via umbrella.
