Android Developer - Government

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• Familiarity with MVVM and Clean Architecture
• Competence in automated testing (unit, integration/feature, and UI)
• Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD
• Knowledge of Java
• Experience with K6 for performance testing
• Familiarity with AWS and CodeBuild
• Prior experience in government or public sector projects
• Eligibility for SC clearance

Responsibilities:

• Integrate internal government services into a heavily utilised mobile app.
• Develop features end to end, maintaining high standards in testing and quality throughout.

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team and contribute to a national-scale mobile app within a public sector organisation that prioritises engineering excellence. You will be part of a forward-thinking environment with a modern setup that includes automated testing, ephemeral branch deployments, and performance testing using AWS CodeBuild. In this role, you will work mostly remotely, with four days remote and one day per week in Manchester, on a six-month contract with an immediate start and a day rate of £400pd outside IR35. We focus on clean architecture and thorough test coverage, and you will play a key part in delivering high-quality software.
